First rainy day, guess that’s part of camping too. Funny we went out this morning and found the wire for cable TV hanging in a tree next to the coach. Hooked it up and now we have a link to the outside world. Watched the weather to find out the next few days are going to be rainy too.
Went to check out the Kinzua Dam area. Again the visitor center was still closed, but we walked around (no rain is going to stop us!). Talked to a couple of guys who were fishing, but having no luck. Continued down scenic route 59 and stopped at the overlook to the dam. Nice view of the Allegheny Reservoir. Just a little way down the road we found the Longhouse Scenic Rd. Very pretty drive through the forest. Unfortunately didn’t see much wildlife today.
We stopped in Kane for Chinese food and met a group of local folks. They asked us where we were from and of course we told them of our plan for the next 2 years. She had been in Alaska 50 years ago with her husband. They went by van and camped in a tent. I can’t imagine what it would have been like up there back then. She doesn’t travel any more and was very excited for us!
Went back to camp, played cards ( I won) and got ready to head out tommorrow.
